The Way to Freedom
The cross of Jesus Christ gives us the most nuanced and sophisticated answer to the modern problem of freedom. How can we gain the freedom of the cross? 1) You have to let the cross offend you and 2) You have to boast in the cross.
This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on February 6, 1994. Series: The Cross and Your Life. Scripture: Galatians 5:10-13; 6:14-16.

Really appreciated this. The three swimmers- one gets 50 yards, one 2 miles, one 150 miles... they all need rescuing. I need rescuing and am blown away by Jesus doing this for me, for us, for everyone.

Rebecca listen to Dr Keller’s sermon from May 4th. I think that is one he gave on a anniversary to 911 , if not one of those. I hope that comforts you.

Could Dr.Keller probe the problem of despondency, anger, pride, etc., as failing to boast in the cross of Christ? It’s been almost two years now since my husband’s death. When I think of the circumstances of his death I feel despondent because he died an early death needlessly. Because of this one fact, I am having a hard time, even as I trust God for the outcome and look to Jesus’ crucifixion as an undeserved gift on my behalf, putting aside my grief.
